This is a summarized showcase of some of the efforts and content created to build a robust 10000 Facebook Fan Page for a Portuguese Travel Agency. Take a look at some of my other Digital Marketing projects and campaigns.
In November 2013, I was recruited to work on the Marketing Department of a Madeira Island (Portugal) outgoing Travel Agency, they sell "vacations" for local residents. After the initial months learning the business basics one of the roles set to my responsibility was to build a Facebook Page and use Social media to advocate the brand, build an audience and create user engagement with the company.
Bellow are some of the initiatives created, designed and maintained during my time as head of Web Marketing in order to fullfill their goals. You should be noticed that this wasn't a continuous line of efforts since Digital marketing evolves much more than Social Media, hence don't quite if you're running this job alone. This a summary of the initiatives and hopefully some of this content might provide tips and ideias to show how a business can grow a 10.000 fans Facebook Page.
For audience growth, carefully designed, regular and segmented Facebook Ad Campaigns were created.
For user recollection, special visual contents of national and international dates were created.
For special campaigns awareness, consistent designed promotions were delivered on regular basis.
For user offline engagement with the company social events were organized and shared online afterwards.
For higher page activity simple social games of competitive nature were designed.
For page followers acknowledgement and retribution discounts and vouchers were delivered.
For cutting edge information delivering live and meaningful pictures for the industry were shared.
For constant novelties and free knowledge, news and industry information were shared on a regular basis.
For selling and free advertising, appealing pictures of the business product were posted.
For gathering user unique content and have users engage with it, online contests were designed.
For user fun and entertainment with visual content, online quizzes were regularly posted.
For empathy and company personification, industry related compelling quotes were designed.
For user education and general knowledge, industry related curiosities were posted regularly.
For being the advocate of industry novelties and involve users, exclusive pictures were shared.
For user engagement and recognition of their importance, user centered initiatives were designed.
For brand awareness and content sharing, viral and modern visual content was designed.
Below you can see some of the results from the agency Facebook Insights page. The main efforts began solelly in 2013 and there were some absent periods of time not represented on the graphic. Nevertheless, the page achieved 10.000 fans on November 2013. Considering the small number of people living on Madeira Island 267,785 [www.ine.pt] and the local business facebook pages, the results achived are quite satisfatory.
